In 1983, RHA started performing executive outplacement for local companies under the same name. It was from our extensive experiences of giving seminars, interviewing executives, and evaluating the methods of competing outplacement programs that the unique approach of Outplacement Training Resources (OTR) was developed.
In 1993 OTR was formally introduced as the only in-house outplacement training program for companies and individuals. We strive to be the leader of the industry in training companies in how to do their own outplacement by providing high quality career transition training at a significantly low cost. We believe that people are people no matter what position they hold. There is a need to train ALL levels of individuals, not just executives; letting your employees know that you care. At OTR our consultants work closely and individually with you to tailor the program to your company's unique need.

Our customer base in the Dayton, Ohio area is well over 100 companies.
Over the last ten years, we have given numerous seminars for local universities, Chambers of Commerce, and local churches teaching people how to find their next job. It was from these seminars that we found that the people who were attending were not in top management with the companies that let them go and were not given any Outplacement training. We also learned that a large number of companies had offered Outplacement training to top management of the companies where these people had worked.
Over the last thirteen years, we have interviewed hundreds of professionals who were being Outplaced by other firms, who came to our Search firm as a normal method of finding a job. We found that their resumes, for the most part, were not as good as they could have been, their interviewing skills were lacking and their marketing skills (networking, ad response, targeting companies, etc.) was just plain poor.
It was from our experiences of giving seminars and interviewing executives (who were trained in Outplacement from other firms) that led to forming Outplacement Training Resources.
We have always felt that a clerk, foreman, or plant superintendent has to find a job just as fast, if not faster, than a Vice President of Marketing. They have to eat, pay bills, etc. just like an executive does, yet they are not offered Outplacement training. |
